About Dorothy House

Dorothy House Hospice Care supports 1,500 families affected by cancer, motor neurone disease and other life threatening conditions every year. It is the only charity providing free specialist nursing care at home for people with life-threatening illness in Bath, north and west Wiltshire and north east Somerset. Most of our care is provided in people’s own homes, as that is where the majority of our patients prefer to be. Short-term care, out-patient and day patient services are provided at the hospice in Winsley, near Bath.

To make sure patients have the best possible quality of life, pain and symptom relief, respite for carers, emotional and spiritual support and day care are all provided free of charge.

The vast majority of the hospice’s income, 81 per cent, is spent directly on patient care. A further 10 per cent goes on education, which indirectly benefits patients by training Dorothy House staff and other health care professionals.

About Naomi House & Jacksplace
Naomi House and Jacksplace are hospices for children and young adults that provide support to children and young people with conditions that mean they are unlikely to live to become adults.
The charity provides care to families and young adults living in communities across the seven counties of Berkshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Surrey, West Sussex and Wiltshire.
The charity has two specialist units, Naomi House for children, and Jacksplace for young adults. Each unit is purpose built and offers an appropriate environment for each age group.
It costs around £7million a year to run the two units. The charity receives less than 20% of its funding from the Department of Health. The rest is raised by people and businesses across region.
The support given by Naomi House is unique in the central south. It delivers a range of services to help to relieve families from the day to day pressures of looking after a child or young person with a life limiting condition
Every donation, large or small makes a difference, to the children and families who receive support from us. Hundreds of children and families benefit from the work of Naomi House each year, your donation can help to ensure that we can continue to give them the support they need .
